If pasta is your favourite pastime, then you absolutely must try Moda’ Ristorante in Craighall Park which arrived at a converted shed in Shepherd Market on Jan Smuts Avenue about a year or so ago. It’s warm and humble ambience is the perfect pairing for its wholesome authentic Italian dishes, fittingly made by an authentic Italian chef. Chef Omar Scarabello, who owns the restaurant with Diego Montresor, is a master of simple (but sublime) food and the veal ravioli smothered in sage butter will silence you for the entirety of the meal. You won’t want to waste time talking when you’re savouring every mouthful. 339 Jan Smuts Avenue, Shephard Market, Craighall Park, Craighall. Details: 063-701-5652
