Without further ado, here are six spots with alcohol….and an sundown vibe worth seeking out.

HogsHead (Illovo)

Seat yourself on the large terrace or in front of the many sports screens, and help yourself to beer from the many self-service craft beer taps on the entertaining ‘Beer Wall’. Voted (Best Neighbourhood Pub), HogHead is an upmarket spot that incorporates a fusion of traditional hospitality, vintage glamour through its retro brick interior and a contemporary style. Their menu is definitely not something to be missed, as all their food is freshly prepared on site, with no preservatives, MSG or artificial flavourants. Burgers are 100% lean beef and buns are baked daily on site.

Beerhouse (Fourways)

The Foundry (Parktown North)

This spot takes things a bit further than the other venues, with a more creative edge and beer-inspired dishes like mussels in a ‘beer, celery sauce, leek’ and so on. Craft beer and locally-inspired food are the order of the evening at The Foundry, one of Parktown North’s busiest venues. The crowd spills out onto the balcony and into the street on Friday afternoons, so don’t go looking for a quiet drink. It’s also around the corner from popular 4th Avenue, Parkhurst, with its many restaurants and bars, if further sustenance and raucousness are required.
